Kickoff Sample Agenda for Women's Ministry
Julia Bettencourt
July 15, 2007
Kickoffs are those events we hold for our women's ministry in order to give it a boost. The agenda on this page is just a sample one to give you some ideas as what to put on your order of events for your Kickoff.
Below is a just a sample of what to include on your agenda for your Women's Ministry Kickoff Meeting. You may need more or less items to fit your needs.
Sample Kickoff Agenda
Even if you are not planning on passing out an agenda, be sure to type one of for yourself and give copies to anyone who is involved in putting on the kickoff program.
1. Welcome
2.  Opening Prayer
3. General Announcements
4. Music
5. Word from the Women's Ministry Leader
Go over "mission" or "vision" statement of your women's group if you have one. Remind your ladies of the purpose.
See the Narrowing Women's Ministry Mission Statements page for examples.
Review some of the high points from previous year. Share your goals (not projects or activities--that's included in #8) for women's ministry within your church. Goals are such things as seeing a close-knit group of ladies, for the ladies to all be prayer warriors, for the ladies to increase their Bible reading, etc. See the Setting Group Goals page here.
6. Business Matters
Take care of any business matters such as voting if you need to vote in officers, filling out and turning in any forms, etc.
7. Plans for Women's Ministry New Year
Include any fundraisers, activities, types of bible studies, or events that are going to be held. Share that there are opportunities for every lady.
If you have various leaders in charge of different ministries or projects within your main Women's Ministry, you may want to allow them each to give a brief description of what they will be doing in that ministry or for that project.
If you've passed out a calendar for the year, or material on various projects, draw attention to that.
8. Skit or Music
Nothing long or elaborate is needed. Just do something to break up your evening with a little entertainment.
9. Challenge Time
Ideas for different types of challenges:
- Highlight various ministries through slide or power point presentation and focus on the impact that has been made and can be made through your Women's Ministry.
- Have one or few ladies share a testimony of how the Women's Ministry has affected their lives.
- Devotional (something motivational such as unity, teamwork, reaching goals, serving, making a difference, etc.)
10. Closing Remarks
Bring meeting to a conclusion. Be sure to recognize any volunteers who helped in planning and preparing your Kickoff.
11. Closing Prayer
12. Refreshments
13. Sign Ups
Have sign up sheets available if you need your ladies to sign up for various ministries or projects.
