Do You Want to Build a Women's Ministry? Series

I hope you have enjoyed taking a winter break and building a women's ministry with me. I have found that there is no way set in stone to build a ministry for women. It is a process. It is continually changing and transforming.

Sometimes we end up doing women's ministry by trial and error. We have to work on the best way to fit the needs of our ladies at the time. Our women are always maturing, changing, and evolving. They are always dealing with different stages of life. They are all dealing with different problems. They are all even being blessed in different ways at different times.

There isn't going to be two women's ministries that turn out exactly alike. Also, if your women's ministry stays the same for years at a time, there is probably a problem. It needs to change and evolve because the make-up of your women will change and evolve.

Snowmen never turn out exactly the same. It depends on who is helping to build them. It depends on what type of snow we are working with to build that snowman. It depends on what kind of ground we are covering when we start rolling and forming those big snowballs.

We might even find the base snowball at the bottom of our snowman has been built and formed differently than the middle one. That's okay. As I said, women's ministry is a process. That being said, you will need to constantly check to see where you are. You have to constantly check to see if needs are being met.

Perhaps you need to go back to your foundation and firm up God's Word. You may need to shore up and strengthen what is already in place. It may be that you need to work a little harder as a leader. You may need to see a little farther. Listen a little more closely. Plan a little more wisely.

I trust you won't give up. Working with women in our churches can be so rewarding. Look at some of the wonderful things that can be accomplished.

The Rewards of Women's Ministry

  • Spiritual growth realized
  • Souls saved
  • Hearts stirred
  • Lives changed
  • Friendships formed
  • Faith matured
  • Forgiveness given
  • Needs met
  • Spiritual gifts used
  • Understanding found
  • Love shared
  • Mentoring implemented
  • Sharing achieved
  • Serving undertaken
  • Caring developed
  • Unity restored
  • Encouragement experienced
These are some of the outcomes that we can look for in our women's ministry and be thankful for what God is doing.

I know sometimes it is easy to get down and discouraged in women's ministry, especially when it's cold outside. I hope thinking about these things will help encourage you.

There is an article on the website, Establishing a Women's Ministry, if you want step by step things to do to start up a women's ministry. I wanted this article to focus more on us seeing the reasons why we work hard at building one.

I appreciate you braving the weather and spending time out in the cold with me. Now go inside and warm up with a cup of hot chocoate or a cup of coffee!
