Knowing the Basics in Women's Ministry

In the Know

In women's ministry

I have found that it's better to know a lot of things about how things are run, who you need to report to, the structure of leadership in your church, and a whole lot of other things. Knowing all the pertinent information will help keep you out of trouble as a leader.

All these things will help you immensely in decision making as a women's ministry leader.

What to know

  1. Know your church doctrinal beliefs.
  2. Know what responsibilities fall upon you as leader.
  3. Know the chain of command within your church structure.
  4. Know what decisions you have the discretion of making.
  5. Know the policies to enlist volunteers and team members.
  6. Know the policies of getting special speakers approved.
  7. Know the policies of using church facilities and equipment.
  8. Know purchasing and financial policies.

Hey Women's Leader--Make it Happen!

Grab a piece of paper or notebook and pen.

  • Number down your page 1-10, leaving about 3 or 4 spaces between each number.
  • Write the following on each line.
    1. God
    2. Jesus Christ
    3. Holy Spirit
    4. Man's Relation to Sin
    5. Salvation
    6. The Church
    7. The Bible
    8. Angels
    9. Last Things and Eternity
    10. Church Ordinances
  • Now write beside each one just a line or two what you think your local church's view is on each topic.
  • Next time you have the opportunity, look up your church doctrinal belief statement and compare what you think verses what your church states. Are they the same? If not, be sure to dig a little further to find out more.

Find more things along this line in the Leader Basics.

What? No Mailing List?

The answer is "no" I don't maintain one any more for a lot of reasons, but you can keep up with the Julia Bettencourt Ramblings Facebook Page for announcements of anything new on the website.

Keeping it Simple

I have reduced my social media to just Facebook and Instagram.
