Valentine’s Mini Package Favor

I’m sharing an idea today that I posted on my old craft blog (that I no longer have) a long time ago for Valentine’s Day. It’s one of those very easy little projects. These are sweet little mini mail packages. I originally made some of these to go with the Letters Valentine’s Theme. I made some up this week for my new Rae Dunn mailbox that I got at Marshalls, so I thought I’d share this idea with you again.

Valentine's Candy DIY Favor

If you have any of the metal mail boxes from the Target dollar spot or even one of the Rae Dunn ones, I think they look cute flowing out with these little packages.

Making Mini Valentine’s Package Favors

Supplies Needed

  • Hershey’s Nuggets
  • Kraft paper (Thinner works best. The heavier weight doesn’t fold up well and is too bulky. I used the Kraft paper gift roll from Hobby Lobby’s Party Section. This is the one I used. It had an inch grid on the back so I liked that. Some weeks it is half off.)
  • Stickers (no bigger than Nugget size)
  • Transparent tape
  • Thin cotton string or baker’s twine

What you will be doing is basically wrapping these like little presents.

Easy Directions

  • Cut Kraft paper to 3 x 4 inches in size.
  • Place Hershey’s Nugget in center (lengthwise candy on lengthwise paper) with curved side down.
  • Fold up all sides towards back (flat side). Start with the Nugget sides first, and make flaps in corners of top and bottom of Nugget ends (as you would do in wrapping the ends of a present) and be sure to pull the paper around tight. (The back will end up looking somewhat like the back of an envelope)
  • Adhere a piece of tape or sticker to close back.
  • Front side will be the curved side.
  • Decorate with stickers as desired and tie up with string or twine. I used some raised stickers and some flat.

TIP: Enlist the help of a friend when doing these as it is just easier to have someone hold their finger over the string in order to tie the little knots.

Valentine's Day Craft Idea

Wouldn’t these be cute to share after a book club meeting? Or to put on your desk at work to share a treat with co-workers? Or for everyone to take one after an event or get-together? Or just to close up a little mail box full of sweet packages and deliver as a treat to a friend or your sweetheart? Or just for decoration at home?

I love things that are versatile. Don’t you?
