Sweater Weather Launch Party

Hello and welcome sweet friends to my Sweater Weather : Devotional for Women Launch Party. So glad you could be here as I introduce to you my newest book.

Sweater Weather Party

It’s getting closer to fall so I hope you are ready for some sweater weather! I know I am. We have had quite a few triple digit days here in sunny California where I live. I can’t wait till some cooler temps get here, even if it may be a while away and short lived when it comes.

Rap! Rap! Rap!

I hope that’s you knocking at the door! Please come on in and enjoy my party. I am so pleased you have decided to drop by and join in the fun. If you don’t have any cool fall weather yet, just step on inside. We have the air on and you will be quite comfortable. I’ll drop the temperature down a few degrees so you can enjoy wearing your sweater.

I’m leaving you some fall wall art that you can use for welcoming the fall season.

Please sit at the game table!

I’m such a lover of fall activities as well as the beauty of fall. Hope you enjoy the game/activity downloads.

Let’s step outside and take in the fall beauty

I love even just stepping out on the front porch or on the back patio in the fall. And fall walks are my favorite! The first section in my new book is on Fall Beauty. There is so much beauty and bounty to see in God’s creation. I hope the Reading Plan below will help you focus in on all that beauty and bounty. You choose the fall month you want to start your reading and read one verse/passage each day .

There is lots of beauty out there and also some fun things that remind us of fall too! How about looking for some of them with a photo hunt with cell phones? You can do this as a challenge to yourself or with friends.

Ready for refreshments?

I love trying new fall beverages. I will even try those pumpkin ones, even if every pumpkin concoction doesn’t taste good. I love fall flavored teas, hot chocolate, and apple cider. Mmmm! They are all wonderful to drink in Sweater Weather! And what about a wonderful Thanksgiving meal with friends and family! I’m looking forward to the next one.

Hear the party music!

Oh, yeah! We need some party music! Download the hymn related downloads below.

Sharing a playlist. And yes! I enjoy all genres of music. I enjoy listening to a lot of Celtic music, especially Irish, so you will find some of that and a little bit of everything. Hopefully these songs will put you in the mood for Sweater Weather and focusing on God’s beauty and bounty.

Come sit down in a comfy chair for a book reading! (excerpt)

I thought it was appropriate to end this book with a devotion called, “Sweater Threads”. I hope you enjoy reading a portion of it!

Excerpt from Sweater Weather: Devotional for Women
From the “Sweater Threads” Devotion

I have one of those oversized sweaters that I’ve had forever and wear early in the mornings.  Usually before noon we are pulling those sweaters off of us.  This one oversized sweater I have has been worn so much that it has a few holes.  I keep it anyway.  I just wear it around the house in the mornings.  But those sweater threads are unraveling a little more and more.  The problem is that the threads have come loose and my poor old sweater is falling apart.

Isn’t that so like the body of Christ?  We are knit together in love as believers.  And when we are close and encouraging each other, building each other up, and serving closely together, we do just fine.  But if we start fighting, bickering, or not getting along, and judging each other, we move apart, like the threads of an old sweater.  Pretty soon we don’t have anything to hold us together.

Sometimes we have to work on those sweater threads.

Please stop at the favor table

It’s always fun to give a little gift to your party guests, and I hope you have gathered up all of the party goodies (downloads) within this post that you want.

Some of my real life favorite fall favors are:
