…yet your heavenly Father…Matthew 6:26
I have always liked that verse in Matthew talking about how if God feeds the sparrows, then how much more will He take care of us. Love that!
I always think of Matthew 6 as the “Brag on Dad” chapter. All through it, Jesus refers to the Father. The Father sees this (Matthew 6:4). The Father will do this (Matthew 6:6). The Father will do that (Matthew 6:14). The Father knows this (Matthew 6:8). Jesus even teaches us how to pray to the Father (Matthew 6:9-13).
I’ve been thinking about that verse in Matthew 6:26 a lot. On those days that getting through all this Covid-19 virus stuff is hard, I’m a little overwhelmed, and I’m longing for some type of normalcy—I have to stop and just get myself in focus again. “Yet” he feeds those sparrows. I may be feeling in stuck mode, but “Yet” God is still in control. Some days I just have to focus on the Father more. I need to have my own little praise and “brag on Dad” session to get in the right mind set I guess.
Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Matthew 6:26

My father passed away several years ago, but I’m so thankful for having him in my life as long as I did. When I think of my dad, I think fishing, hunting, big gardens, and all those things, but mostly I picture of him sitting or lying on the couch reading his Bible, because that is what he did with any spare time that he had. I’m always grateful that my dad taught me that reading the Bible was important.
Have a great week, everyone.
Creative blessings,
Julia
