Door Prizes for Women’s Ministry

I have an older post on the blog with my Top Five Picks for Women’s Ministry Favors so today I thought I would share with you some ideas for door prizes for events. You can go to my favor blog post here. I did update it with some of the new Prime Day deals..

Women's Ministry Door Prize Ideas

Let me first say that I don’t think door prizes are necessary at every event or celebration. They can become predictable, uninteresting, and trite very quickly. When you do choose to do door prizes at an event, I think they should have some thought put into them in order to keep the anticipation going.

Women’s Ministry Door Prize Ideas

Tote Bags

I think almost all women have need for a tote bag from time to time. It may be just to carry things to the beach. It may be used as a grocery bag. It might get used to carry a laptop and books. It may be used for carrying snacks and stuff back and forth for kids. They are so handy!

Water Bottles

Face it. We all need to stay hydrated. If you are a women’s ministry leader, you know that our women stay extremely busy and on the go, so everyone needs a water bottle to take with them. You can get them in all price ranges.

Throws

Call me crazy here, but I just think throws are nice gifts. Doesn’t everyone need one to throw over their legs when they sit down to read a book or watch tv? I wouldn’t pick one for someone else that is a real crazy pattern or print. Choose neutral colors for something like this. And hey, if they really hate it, it makes a wonderful thing for them to regift.

Makeup Bags

This is another one of those things that can be found in all price ranges. I put the pouch kind in my Amazon deal link below. I love these type because they can be used for anything, and not just makeup. You can use them to store pens and pencils. And they are great for storing extra cords for all your tech devices. I find it to be one of those useful practical door prizes.

Journals

Okay, I know everyone doesn’t “journal”, but you just might spur someone to do so. Besides having a beautiful place to write down things is just fun. I love the little plain journals I’ve linked below. They are lined and you can use them for writing anything. I have several that I’ve gotten on sale here and there.

Okay, there you have it. I do change what is my favorite door prizes over time. There might be other things down the road that will become my favorite.

There are a lot of fun door prize ideas, especially if it’s for like a birthday party with a theme and you want everything to revolve around that. For women’s events, some of the other things I like for door prizes are a fancy pair of socks, a password journal, tea towels, or even a set of writing pens or highlighters.

My top two things I dislike for door prizes at the moment are one, coffee mugs. I just think they are so overdone.

Second is candles. They are so overdone as well, but also anything scented may bother some people with allergies or sensitivities. If it’s a favor and scented it’s not so bad. Favors are usually small and easy to hand off and give away to someone. But a door prize is something you win. It’s something just for you, so candles will be loved or hated, or unusable (can’t be used because of allergies/sensitivities). And if you win a door prize it should be special. You should be able to keep it. Right?

Okay, what about you? Do you have some favorite door prizes you’ve used or given at events? Are there any you just hate to receive? It’s okay. You can talk about it. Let’s start a conversation over on my  Julia Bettencourt Ramblings Facebook Page.

Have a lovely day,
Julia
