I did little mini packages with Hershey’s Nuggets the other day, so I thought I’d share another little easy small candy gift while I had my Kraft paper out. It’s another, hey, let’s wrap the candy like a package project. This time we use larger chunky candy using state scrapbooking stickers and a little twine.
I did California because that’s where I live, but different state stickers are available from various sources.
How fun would these be for book club if you are reading a book set in a particular state?
Wouldn’t these be cute as little hospitality gifts for out of state friends who are visiting you? This would be the ultimate chocolate to leave on a pillow in the guest room.
You could tuck these into care packages to loved ones as well. Or maybe send to a college student who is homesick. Or you could do countries instead of states for favors to use for a missionary themed event.
I’m not giving you detailed directions for these. Basically, just wrap a thick candy bar with Kraft paper, adhere some transparent tape to close back. Tie up with cotton string. Then decorate with state scrapbooking stickers. Movie boxed candy would also work well for these mail packages. Mine was for a gift, so I splurged on a Tony’s bar, but if I was doing lots of favors I would definitely use a less expensive candy.
The best tip I can give you is pull the Kraft paper as tight as possible before taping the back closed. I covered my tape with a sticker.
Depending on how many stickers you want to put on each candy package, you could probably get two or three “candy packages” from one package of state scrapbooking stickers. The stickers vary in how many come in a package. I used several stickers on mine because I wanted mine to look like it had a stamp in the corner, a round cancelled stamp, and an address, so that’s why I placed mine where I did on the package.
I used The Paper Studio La Petite State Icons stickers for California from Hobby Lobby. I only buy stickers in there when they are half off. Check JoAnns. They carry the Paper House scrapbook stickers and they have several states and country ones as well. Michaels sells a few states and countries in their Recollections line. You can get some state and country scrapbook stickers on Amazon, but getting them on discounts at the craft stores is the best budget friendly advice I can give you.
