The event themes on the website can be used for showers, parties, women’s ministry retreats and activities, or church functions. Each theme will have one or several possible spiritual applications. I give you lots of info and ideas—You pick just a few to enhance your event. More ideas can be used for showers and parties, but less is always more for ministry events.

  • Focus on diving into summer reading regarding the Bible.

Devotional Starters and Workshop Ideas

Simple Decorating

  • Tray of summer related items
    • small beach ball
    • Vase of daisies or summer flowers
    • Seashells in a clear jar
    • Overly large pair of sunglasses
    • Sandbucket
    • Container of sunscreen
    • Line tray with a folded beach towel.

Icebreakers

Buried Treasure

  • Fill a small kid’s size swimming pool (or small plastic tub) with sand.
  • Bury wrapped treasures for door prizes or bury the door prize tickets for everyone to dig up when they arrive.

Discussion Starter Questions

  • What is your favorite part of going to the beach?
  • Can you name of the Days of Creation in order and what God made each day? (Have a few people give it a try)
  • What is your favorite summer memory?
  • What’s your favorite summer treat?
