Nautical Themed Art

I love gathering paintings from the masters to print for my home. If you weren’t aware of it, many museums now have public domain art and open access art available in their digital collections for download. That means we are free to find beautiful paintings and art from history and print them for our homes (or to print and frame for our events). Yay!

I thought since I am going to be celebrating the launch of my new book soon, “Let Your Faith Sail”, I would go ahead and share some of the nautical art that I came across while exploring the The Metropolitan Museum of Art online. Some people spend time on Tik Tok and other things, but give me a good painting to stare at and I’m good. I don’t need reels or videos to make me happy, just some good art that doesn’t move but just stands still for me so I can find all the beautiful things in it.

Here are a few sea related paintings for you to enjoy. If you want to download any of these, follow the links to the Met Museum and use their download arrow immediately under the photo of the painting on their site.

Nautical Print Resources

The Met is a great place to find art to print, but you can also find art at the NYPL as well. When you search at the NYPL, just be sure to click that little box for the public domain each time you search.

NOTE: I have reduced the size and resolution of the photos below and also “framed” them for my blog, so get any downloads from the Met so you can pick up a good resolution size for printing.

As I said, I love staring at paintings. I always think that imagination, creativity, and artistic penchants are some of the most beautiful things God created in people.

As Pablo Picasso said,

The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.
